Privacy Alert: Taking Action to Ensure Data Security
Managing privately-held information is a challenge for records and information professionals. It will become an even bigger problem as regulatory entities add more requirements. What are the requirements for managing secured data? How do you manage secured information created by today's current and future technology tools? What are the issues being created by these varying technologies? These are urgent topics relating to technology and governance of protected data - is it information overload?

Upon completion of this seminar, you will be able to

Session Topics
Data Privacy Meets Records Management - A review of current and anticipated data privacy regulations and discussion of steps that companies should be taking to ensure protection of information and compliance with regulations.

Technology Issues for Today’s Records Management - An examination of the newest issues that today’s technologies create for records managers, including social networking, the increased use of personal PDAs, the ability of new apps to impact information retention, and storage of information in the cloud.

Technology Solutions for Today’s Records Management - Recognizing the proliferation of technology solutions that are offered to today’s records managers, this technology-agnostic session will focus on the steps that must be taken, input that must be obtained, and questions that must be asked in order to identify the technology solutions that best meet your needs — regardless of the stage of the information lifecycle you are seeking to address.

Information Governance in the Digital Age - This session will examine the roles, standards, and processes that companies must consider as they seek to ensure secure and efficient information management.

M. James Daley Esq., CIPP
Jim Daley helps Fortune 500 clients apply technology to reduce the legal risk and costs of complex litigation. Laura Clark Fey, Esq.
Laura Fey applies her 19 years of litigation and trial experience to her work assisting corporate clients develop and implement practical, legally compliant, and cost-effective strategies to address a wide variety of records retention, e-discovery, and data privacy challenges. Laura has been recognized as a Missouri and Kansas Super Lawyer and “Top 50 Women Lawyers;” “Best of the Bar” in Kansas City; and “40 under Forty” by Ingram’s Magazine.

Lisa A. Lukaszewski, Esq.
Since graduating from the University of Notre Dame Law School, Lisa Lukaszewski has spent more than 14 years advising companies about discovery and litigation. Today, she focuses her practice on helping corporate clients solve their records management, compliance, e-discovery and data privacy issues. In addition to developing policies, processes, and training, Lisa is a frequent speaker on the records management and legal issues impacting organizations today.
