A message from your GKC ARMA President
The last two GKC Chapter years have been amazing. This is due to the vision, talent, and hard work of our leaders. Two years ago the Board set a professional standard and the Board last year continued to demonstrate the same kind of quality. The results are best reflected in value to the members. We have had outstanding meetings and the attendance numbers indicate our members agree!
Now continuity for continued excellence is on the shoulders of our volunteers. With a mix of veterans and some exciting new additions, we have a Board ready to roll. But there is a lot to be done and results will reflect how effectively our leadership pulls in the requisite participants.
We have several challenges ahead of us this year. Obviously, there are the monthly meetings. Our Education Committee which is led by Bill Millican and Chris Hohman is building an exciting and timely series of programs. Be watching for more on this soon.
2012 is our scheduled time to update the GKC bylaws. This does require effort but also provides a great opportunity to review the current structure. We have already identified several areas where we can update and improve to better reflect the times in which we live.
Marketing and Membership are both areas where volunteers can reach out to existing and potential members. We are looking at targeting one or two vertical markets that are under-represented in the current chapter. With the right volunteers we will also increase outreach to the membership.
The financial stability of 2010-2011 continues for this fiscal period. Vince Pingel has been an amazing addition. His efforts resulted in the most stable financial platform in the chapter's existence. It is also much easier to control and produce reports. Your Board is entering its second year of creating and working within a budget!
We are using a cloud service for the financial management of our Chapter assets. Vince Pingel, our Treasurer, has invested significant time in setting up our books, on-line, so that he and all of his successors will be able to provide our Chapter with standardized practices, accountability, reports and transparency. His knowledge, initiative and guidance in this area have been amazing.
I appreciate the trust you have given me in electing me to the position of President of the GKC ARMA chapter. As are many of you, I find myself over-committed and with more to do than I know how to accomplish. But with the support of our current Board, and the efforts of members who volunteer for committees, we are going to be strong again in 2011-2012.
